What is it about?

This work is about how people understand each other's minds. A large part of knowing what is in someone’s mind is knowing what that person is attending to. We find that people have a natural sense of how others pay attention to the world around them -- how their attention moves from one thing to another, where they are going to pay attention next, and more. In fact, we are so tuned in to the ways people move their attention that we can even learn to recognize the attention patterns of specific people.

Why is it important?

Understanding other people's minds is fundamental to social interaction!
