What is it about?
Taking into account the fact that the provision of seismic safety in a number of countries with developed infrastructure is one of the global problems, we can see how many research works have been carried out in this field. Evaluating the losses caused by strong earthquakes and reducing these losses are crucial priorities. At the moment, high attention is being paid to the issues of developing a plan of measures to protect the population living in areas with high seismic activity from strong earthquakes and to provide early warning of the losses caused by earthquakes, as well as to mitigate the scale of economic losses. In this article, we used data from several software databases, including Intensity MAP v3.02 software for developing earthquake scenarios, and “SeismicRiskAssessment 3” software for economic risk assessment. The study determined the potential damage to existing residential buildings and estimated economic losses across 15 districts and 4 cities within the Fergana region.

Why is it important?
Based on the information presented in the seismic risk map, a systematic analysis of economic, social and ecological issues in buildings and structures at various levels during strong earthquakes was carried out.
Perspectives
It was a great pleasure to write this article, as it includes co-authors with whom I have long collaborated. It also provided me with the opportunity to connect with researchers who are using active methods in seismic risk assessment, and as a result, to obtain important scientific research results.
