Why is it important?
Particular to the rotating disk flow, it is important to know the impact of surface non-flatness on the flow and heat transfer characteristics. This study addresses this question by considering five different surface textures of a rotating disk. The results explain how the surface non-flatness contributes to enhance the cooling performance of rotating disk flow.
Perspectives
The impact of this publication is not limited to the technological applications only rather it also helps to understand a little bit more about the physical reasons of improved transport phenomena in the rotating disk boundary layer. In this connection, further research is needed to identify more suitable wavy shape with regard to the technological requirements and the fundamental characteristics of the flow.
