What is it about?

Huma betang is a local wisdom value from Central Borneo society. It is widely known as the value of Dayak’s tribe. It has four aspects: togetherness, unity, cooperation, religion, and mutual respect. Those values are integrated into school learning, including physics learning. However, no single instrument measures students’ values as education internalizes. Therefore, this study aims to produce a feasible tool to measure the students’ huma betang character in physics learning.

Why is it important?

This study is the first research to develop an instrument to measure huma betang character, especially in physics learning. The final product of this study is a human being character measurement instrument that is feasible to be tested on students. The results information of this study can be utilized for designing a physics learning based on the character of huma betang. Besides, this paper can become a references for researchers on human character measurement. In this study, we use the narrative scale to develop each item measurement because it can reveal a person’s intention related to a phenomenon. The method will make it easier to measure a person’s internal character
