What is it about?

The internet of things (IoTs) has increased the need for more secure wireless sensor network systems such as Zigbee, to connect multiple smart devices. This paper explores Zigbee wireless sensor network’s concept, vulnerabilities and detection systems. There are associated potential risks and threats along with vulnerabilities in the system. A framework was proposed to create a safe and secure wireless sensor home network. This framework incorporates Intrusion detection systems (IDS) with the Zigbee wireless sensor network

Why is it important?

The increasing growth of IoTs has increased the need for a secure wireless sensor network connection. Wireless technologies will grow with the widespread use of home networks and automation, however, require safe and reliable technology like Zigbee. Zigbee has become synonymous with smart devices that are used for different purposes and industries. Hence, the usability and reliability of Zigbee will grow over the years. Though there are possible risks of attacks using DoS and malicious injections, measures can be taken to ensure the safety and security of Zigbee sensor networks. Intrusion Detection System application has been proven to be an effective method in identifying potential threats, reporting, and managing these threats.
