What is it about?

Enterococcus faecalis is anopportunistic pathogen that causes nosocomialinfections and some diseases inhumans. These bacteria have been linked to bacteremia, endocarditis, urinary tract infection, and other infections . the objective of this study was to isolate and identify Enterococcus faecalis from different clinical specimens, detection of virulence genes in Al-Diwanyiah city hospitals, as well as to identify some virulence factor genes in these isolates.

The study showed most Enterococcus faecalis isolated from different clinical samples from incoming patients in hospitals have a high prevalence of genes encoding for virulence factors
