What is it about?
The rice grains quality evaluation carried out by humans with conventional methods can lead to subjective judgments, thereby reducing the rice quality analysis accuracy. The purpose of this study is to present a solution to evaluate the quality of rice grains based on the shape of the rice grains using digital image processing techniques. The image resulting from digital image segmentation is processed by a computer to produce information on the quality of rice. The edge detection algorithm is used in this study for identification and classification of the rice quality.
