What is it about?
Philharmonic halls and opera houses - houses for music - serve not only for experiencing, creating and listening to music, they also play an important role in the city. They are places around which important public space is created. Selected examples from Poland show how the architecture of houses for music influences the city and how their architectural quality approaches that of exceptional examples from Europe.

Why is it important?
Houses for music transmit the history and tradition of a place to the next generation, emphasizing the importance of culture in the public perception of cities. In addition, the need to come together, to stay together, is an important dimension of both, music and architecture. Examples show that in an era of competing cities, iconic concert halls can distinguish a city give it a new image.
