What is it about?
About 70% of all known tools are made from high-speed steels. This is a good material, but its cost increases every year due to the presence of expensive alloying elements in its composition. Powder high speed steels solve this issue by applying powder metallurgy and reducing alloying elements.

Why is it important?
Reducing the cost of high-speed steels opens the way to cheaper tool production and increasing the efficiency of cutting tools.
Perspectives
Powder technology for the manufacture of high-speed steels makes it possible to create new steel grades with a reduced content of alloying elements while maintaining their cutting operational capabilities.
