What is it about?

Sediment transport analysis was carried out to determine the sediment distribution - aggradation and degradation - in the Bengawan Solo River, using the Meyer-Petter & Muller method on the discharge periods. The analysis shows that the larger the return period of discharge (Q), the larger the sediment discharge (Qs).

Why is it important?

Sediment distribution indicates the location of aggradation and degradation in the Bengawan Solo River during the discharge periods so that we can take preventive measures to secure the function of the infrastructure in the river.

Perspectives

Understanding sediment transport in Bengawan Solo river helps me to understand the level of damage in the catchment area and its impact on the river and the safety of river infrastructure.
