Conservation of fruit tree biodiversity in the city is a new perspective in conservation strategy. We have shown for the existence of fruit tree species in Indonesian cities. Here problems and prospects on the introduction of the fruit tree species in to city are described.

Why is it important?
Introduction fruit trees into city requires technical, social and policy approaches. Pro cons on the using fruit tree species as city greenery mainly due to traditional perspective of the fruit tree growing in the city associate with high pollution and unsafe situations. On the other hand, the role of fruit species existence on the perspectives of ecology, providing foods, and stimulation on social relationship are escalating.
