What is it about?

This work reports the measurement of a frequency shift of optical beams carrying Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) upon reflection on a rotating right angle prism. This rotational Doppler shift is observed via the interference of OAM beams with opposite topological charges leading to the rotation of the Daisy like interference pattern.

Why is it important?

This is the first report of a Doppler shift upon reflexion on a simple object.

Perspectives

There are potential applications in the stabilisation of unmanned aerial vehicles and space rendez-vous.
