What is it about?
Soil samples were taken from selected sites in the southern of Basra province region for the purpose of studying the radiation activity and knowing the level of radiation contamination of this area.

Why is it important?
Radioactive content is located on the surface of soil within 1-2cm, and 90% of these materials are removed by wind and rain during the first months of soil contamination, as well as natural decomposition of radioactive materials.
