What is it about?
The observed fluctuation of the beam current is larger at the beam edge. The spatial distribution of the beam component can be explained by two negative hydrogen ion production mechanisms: surface and volume processes.

Why is it important?
The beam fluctuation or oscillation is transported to down stream RFQ and LINAC. The observation of the beam intensity modulation at the source driving frequency was confirmed.
