What is it about?

The 2nd singlet Pi state of NaH has been predicted that it is a bound state by many theoretical calculations. We successfully utilized the optical-optical double resonance (OODR) fluorescence depletion spectroscopy to observed this excited state and a deformed ab initio potential is suggested in this article.

Why is it important?

The 2nd singlet Pi state of NaH is experimentally observed for the first time and can be analyzed with the assistance of theoretical calculations.


It's exciting that such a shallow bound state can be successfully observed using pulsed OODR spectroscopy.
