What is it about?

None of the dopants (porphine, phthalocyanine, tetracene, and pentacene) yields an optical spectrum that can be assigned to a plausible rotational band structure.

Why is it important?

These results contradict previous work on the spectroscopy of molecules doped into superfluid helium droplets.

Perspectives

In our ongoing work, we investigate other systems with additional techniques, such as Stark spectroscopy.
