What is it about?
Anti-Parity-Time symmetry(anti-PT), a novel system involves sharp behavior change at certain point(generally referred as exceptional point, or EP), is realized with Four-Wave Mixing(FWM, a nonlinear optical phenomenon) in warm atoms. We modeled and studied the classical as well as quantum mechanical behaviors of the system.

Why is it important?
Anti-PT system have strong response at the so-called exceptional point(EP), and ultra sensitive quantum sensors can be constructed. Our system doesn't require optical gain/loss and thus can potentially suppress the Langevin noise, leading possibly to more sensitive quantum detectors.
