What is it about?
The physical phenomenon of quantum anomalous Hall effect describes a quantized version of the Hall effect that occurs without the application of an external magnetic field. By offering unique dissipation-free chiral quantum transport along the device edge, the quantum anomalous Hall effect bodes particularly well for resistance metrology and low-power computation and information processing.
