What is it about?
Topological lasers are set to become the next generation of laser devices: more durable, more powerful, and more energy efficient. In this work we develop a theoretical model connected to recent experimental results, and we show that it's possible to obtain such a laser even under extremely unfavourable conditions, by using a combination of device design and general properties of the material used for the amplification.

Why is it important?
Our work opens up new design possibilities for these devices, especially in those platforms that are relevant to telecommunication technologies and and that power up our digital life.
