What is it about?
This article describes using an old X-ray diffraction instrument in a new and novel way to collect data on materials not easily studied by commonly practiced techniques.

Why is it important?
It is important because it opens up the study of a host of interesting materials in the convenience of a University laboratory; such materials include amorphous catalysts, battery materials and liquid samples.
Perspectives
This is the culmination of a nearly 3 years work and my first PhD student - the methodologies developed have opened up a large and exciting area of personal research.
