What is it about?

Spin wave (SW) offers data transmission without any moving particle. So, this medium is immune to the joule heating loss unlike the conventional electronics. To control the spin wave by external field, we need to insert metal electrode on the spin wave transmission media. However, SW is extremely sensitive on this electrode selection. This article explains the effect of different electrodes on SW propagation.

SW offers an additional degree of freedom named phase along with the amplitude. Phase information is very important for quantum computing application. So, we can refer the SW as an important candidate for next generation computing in solid state platform.
