Why is it important?
OFD can be inserted through small openings and channel. It is not adherent to tissue as a open-pore polyurethane foam drainage. This new tool can be used for small openings and for active drainage of any secretions.
Perspectives
New indications for intracorporal negative pressure therapy are possible: drainage of reflux after Ivor-Lewis resection or urine drainage. https://endoscopicvacuumtherapy.de/open-pore-film-drainage-ofd/
