What is it about?

In this study, an advanced phase-locked-loop (PLL) which has a simple structure and low computational burden is proposed. The proposed PLL also improves the dynamic performance and the filtering capability of the conventional three phase enhanced-PLL (3pEPLL) significantly.

Why is it important?

Grid synchronization algorithm is very crucial in control of grid tied power converters. The frequency, phase angle, and amplitude of grid voltages should be estimated fast and accurately for a proper grid synchronization. Phase locked loop (PLL) is a key used to estimate phase, frequency, and amplitude information.
