What is it about?

Transmission line faults can take place anywhere in the line, as these lines are widely expanded. To detect the fault, fault type and its location this algorithm is developed. This algorithm can be used to program numerical or microprocessor-based relays and further can be used to find the fault type and its location.

Why is it important?

Our algorithm is tested with many variations of power system, also tested on data set extracted from practical systems and found good to detect the faults, can classify the type of faults with minimum time. Also, the location of the fault calculated is with minimum error.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure for me with this publication. The contribution of co-authors was great, all are very supportive. In this changing world renewable energy sources are increasing day by day. So, faults can take place more frequently. To detect these types of faults with better accuracy and time is a great challenge of the present time.
