What is it about?

This study tested a do-it-yourself training program to help parents learn how to use their child’s Augmentative/Alternative Communication app more effectively. Three caregivers practiced with the program, and two showed improvements in the number and variety of words they used on the app with their child. The results suggest that self-guided training could be a useful way to help families use AAC tools successfully, especially when expert support is limited.
