What is it about?

Hearing loss is an important mid-life risk factor for dementia. We have found that it is not simple, pure-tone hearing loss that is associated with mild cognitive impairment. Instead, it is higher-level processing of sound by the two ears that differs between those who have mild cognitive impairment and those who do not.
