The main purpose of the current scoping review was to identify and synthesize all published validation studies of the SHI across languages based on a literature search across a wide range of databases.

Why is it important?
The current scoping review provides a useful summary and could be a helpful precursor to a systematic review on SHI in the future.
Perspectives
Findings should inform those completing prospective studies to validate the SHI in the future regarding psychometric parameters of the existing versions of the SHI and how to apply rigorous translation methods to appropriately adapt the PROMs to the desired language and culture.
