What is it about?
The project demonstrates the impact of chronic moderate to severe TBI on brain physiology and on semantic knowledge.

Why is it important?
Moderate-severe brain injury affects our semantic system. It demonstrates that TBI is not a static event, but instead it creates a progressive neurodegenerative cascade
Perspectives
The majority of our sample did not have the benefit of intense post acute rehabilitation. The findings demonstrate the need for ongoing treatment and perhaps future research should explore ways to boost cognitive performance in patients who are in the chronic phase and have completed their rehabilitation cycle.
