What is it about?

The coordination of respiration with swallowing in healthy adults is critical for airway protection and the safe ingestion of food/liquids. We found that the literature supports a common respiratory-swallow pattern for healthy adults. Most healthy adult swallow during exhalation at approximately mid lung lung.
