What is it about?
This work involves the development of a digital speech assessment instrument that allows for an analysis of the speech production of children and adolescents speakers of Brazilian Portuguese. It allows the assessment of several aspects of speech production (including naming words and pseudowords, imitation and repetition, and diadochokinesis). In this work, all stages of development of the digital speech assessment instrument were explained, including the evaluation of two samples of children and adolescents (with and without speech sound disorders).

Why is it important?
Speech sound disorders are the most common communication issues in children and account for approximately 40% of patients seen in speech pathology clinics. Speech-language pathologists diagnose this disorders using assessment batteries that allow for the collection and analysis of speech samples. Until now, there was no instrument available for assessment that covered different forms of data collection in a single battery, and that was possible to carry out with children and adolescents. With our instrument, it was possible to carry out a complete evaluation of the speech production of two samples of children and adolescents and the diagnosis of speech sound disorders.
