What is it about?

There is need to consider up to date theories such as the double empathy problem, and not focus on using a neurotypical communication style. What is being promoted is to address skills autistic participants want.

The paper helps point to potential missed ideas when interpreting research findings.


Writing this commentary was a great pleasure as it has developed both my thinking regarding the topic and formed bridges with newer colleagues of whom are autistic (as they read my work assisting with its development). This article also lead to a scholar from another university contact and supporting networking regarding further authorship and research.
