What is it about?

New 3-component mixed matrix membranes prepared from chitosan, non-toxic ionic liquid and water-dispersible MOF nanoparticle for CO2/N2 separation in the 25-50ºC temperature range.

Why is it important?

This is one of the first works in mixed matrix membrane technology where Hansen solubility approach has been applied to explain for the effect that the adhesion and compatibility between membrane components has on membrane performance.

Perspectives

This is a try to introduce new materials (such as MOF nanoparticles) in sustainable membrane production, in as simple a way as possible.
