What is it about?

Chain flexibility can be used to tune the effective interactions between polymer-grafted nanoparticles and homopolymer matrix. We observed that by increasing the stiffness of matrix and grafted chains, the autophobic dewetting of graft layer by matrix chains is significantly lowered resulting in improved wetting and dispersion.

Why is it important?

Our study can be used as a guide to synthesize polymer nanocomposites where dispersion of nanoparticles is of top prioity.
