What is it about?

Adsorption mechanism of Te atoms into the nano-space of microporous inorganic crystals, i.e. zeolites, has been not made clear. Alumino-silicate, alumino-phosphate, and slico-alumino-phosphate type zeolites were used for this purpose. Photoabsorption spectrum was used for the evaluation of the adsorption state of Te.

Why is it important?

Se atoms can be adsrorbed into zeolites with chemical compositions of all three types of . In contrast, Te can be adsorbed into zeolites with alumino-silicate and slico-alumino-phosphate types. This indicates alumino-phosphate framework provides weak adsorption potential for Te atoms. Alumino-silicate regions yield strong adsorption potential for adsorbed species.

Perspectives

Zeolites are one of the attractive materials to stabilize nano-sized materials in their nano-sized space. In case of utilizing zeolites for this purpose, users have to consider the chemical compositions of them.
