What is it about?

A novel quantum dot-intercalating dye dual-donor FRET sensing system has been developed. It can overcome the strict requirement of compact structure for high sensitivity of QD-FRET based sensor. It can be used for sensitive detection of pM specific DNA target with single-nucleotide polymorphyism discrimination abiltiy and can be exploited for label-free detection of pM specific protein targets.
