What is it about?

Macrocycles are chemical compounds that have rather large molecular rings. They form the building blocks of many complex molecular structures and play an important role in chemistry. In this study, the authors explored if iodine ions forming bonds with nitrogen atoms may be used as links in macrocyclic rings.
