What is it about?

We found different subsets of T memory cells in the conjunctiva of dry eye patients, in 2 signatures

Why is it important?

There may be ways to target T effector memory cells separately from T central memory cells using different kinds of drugs that block potassium channels. We found 2 subsets of dry eye patients with either a predominance of TEM or a predominance of TCM. This opens the way for more specific immunotherapies in dry eye.
