What is it about?

We investigated how the precise recollection of previously encountered stimuli is associated with small dilations in pupil size. We found that during the successful recognition of previously seen words, the magnitude of pupil dilation was proportional to how precisely participants could subsequently determine the exact location where they had encountered the words.

Furthermore, it may also pave the way for using pupillometry as an online assessment tool during learning.
