Why is it important?
Our findings indicate that African American Veterans require outreach to their community to enhance awareness and benefits of treatment options, as well as an attempt from health care systems to address structural barriers in access and referral. Findings also indicate that African American patients champion culturally aware, diligent, and knowledgeable providers when contemplating care.
