What is it about?
In general, the more people share the values of their church, the more committed they are to the church. However, this relationship become weak to non-existent in megachurches. In larger churches, people who don't share the church's values are just as committed to the church as people who do share its values.

Why is it important?
This study helps us understand why large churches often have little influence on those who attend them. Many attenders do not not participate because they share the same values of the church, but for other reasons such as appreciating the positive atmosphere or the entertainment provided.
