Why is it important?

Understanding emotional reactions of therapists on the one hand allows to understand the specific characteristics and needs of patients better. On the other hand, it provides insight into how therapists can be supported in their therapeutic work.

Perspectives

I hope this article makes people think about how complicated psychotherapy is and how we need in-depth methods to understand the interaction between patients and therapists in a meaningful way. Also, I hope it opens a door to more research on the therapist's role in psychotherapy research.
