What is it about?

Due to significant increases in telehealth usage, but several suggesting the possibility of inadequate preparation and training, the study was a COVID-19 rapid response review that evaluated 404 practicing mental health providers in terms of telehealth education attainment before and after implementing the telehealth practices. The study quantitively evaluated the claim of variable preparation among providers.

The study demonstrates that while many providers sought telehealth education, which can be viewed as a significant benefit to clinical care, the range and duration of activities suggests the need for additional training in the future to ensure an ethical, legal, safe, and evidence-informed practice.
