What is it about?

This project offers some initial insight into current psychoeducational assessment practices and their effectiveness, particularly as they relate to twice-exceptional students. Twice-exceptional refers to gifted individuals with learning challenges. This study also explored whether current practices are in alignment with recommended best practices.

Why is it important?

There is limited practical research on the assessment of twice-exceptional students. If the findings of this study can be replicated through future studies with more robust samples, the findings could be used to improve existing assessment practices and procedures.

Perspectives

I hope this article encourages other researchers to further investigate this topic. I also hope that it encourages clinicians conducting psychoeducational assessments to engage in critical and reflective practices.
