What is it about?
Forensic evaluations conducted with children and adolescents face complex and nuanced challenges. Adding to this complexity are the recent societal trends and scientific and technological advancements overarchingly influencing psychological assessment. Many of these advancements directly impact evaluators conducting forensic evaluations of minors. Specifically, we are faced with (a) rapidly changing demographics leading to uncertainty in terms of linguistic and cultural considerations, (b) teleassessment (post-COVID-19), (c) evolving developmental and neuroscience research, (d) artificial intelligence (AI), and (e) epigenetics. Emerging scientific and technological advancements in AI, epigenetics, and teleassessment are explored in the forensic evaluation of minors.
