What is it about?
During learning some individuals place a disproportionate emphasis on environmental signs/cues (sign-trackers) or to the goal (goal-trackers). The present study aims to examine the effect of this individual difference on the rats learning speed through an attentional task.

Why is it important?
Individuals whom emphasis on cues are also more susceptible to cue induce relapse. Maybe they are learning faster in classical conditioning between the conditioned stimuli from the environment and the food pellet (unconditioned).
Perspectives
The fastest speed of association shown by sign trackers and their performance in the learning of this task shed light on the benefits of this behavioral style, often depicted as a maladaptive one.
