Why is it important?
Our findings examine how immigrants well-being is impacted by ethnic discrimination. Particularly, how either identification to host culture and their ethnic culture explains the relationship between discrimination and well-being.
Perspectives
This article is testing a social identity model that has been consistently found across diverse populations. Undocumented immigrants are a particularly vulnerable population who have been consistently attacked, specifically during elections cycles (currently and during data collection). By examining the impacts of discrimination during these pivotal times, it allows for a nuanced understanding of discrimination and well-being within the immigration process.
