What is it about?
This paper uses the Community Readiness Model, which involves asking key informants (local NGO workers) about how the community is prepared to address psychosocial consequences of the crisis. They talk about what services are available, how community attitudes, leadership and resources impact on how the community can support reach other. The whole point is to make connections with local activists to provide support to improve this response.

Why is it important?
We need to hear from local (Syrian and Jordanian) psychosocial professionals to understand what is happening in the ground, what works and what support is needed.
Perspectives
It was a privilege to meet all of these committed activists and to be able to develop practical training programs as a result of this community level assessment. Many of us still work together.
