What is it about?
In situations where they are faced with more information than they are able to remember, do individuals with schizophrenia show deficits at prioritizing the information that is most important? In this study, patients with schizophrenia were shown to remember less information than healthy participants, and the information they did remember was not the most valuable.

Why is it important?
As people with schizophrenia often struggle with memory problems, they may be able to maximize their memory by learning to prioritize the most important information. Development of this skill could become a part of cognitive training they receive as part of their clinical care.
