What is it about?
We developed a dynamic, German-language emotion recognition test by use of short film clips, which is neither too easy nor too difficult for healthy adults.

Why is it important?
Emotion recognition is impaired in the majority of patients with brain diseases and traumatic brain injuries. Accordingly, it is critical to have instruments that allow detecting subtle emotion recognition deficits reliably, in an ecological valid way and in short time in clinical settings. However, such instruments do not exist so far.
Perspectives
As a next step, we aim to validate the test in patients with neuropsychological disorders. This web-based test is available for research groups which are interested in assessing emotion recognition in healthy people and/or patients with neuropsychological disorders.
