Why is it important?

Childhood adversity was associated with more chronic illness and an accelerated speed of aging. Further, participants’ health in adulthood was affected by both own and partner experiences of childhood adversity. There were no gender differences.

Perspectives

In addition to the results highlighted in the article, I also wanted to mention the correlation between couples childhood adversity experiences. It is of the most interesting findings to me personally. I am looking forward to see future studies on the concordance and discordance of couples' experiences and health outcomes.
